Activities Report For The Year 2011-12
1. Sattriya Akademi organized a twenty days Ojapali
workshop with a financial assistance of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi,
20th May to 9th June.
2. "Chandalika" a dance drama written by Kavi Guru Rabindra Nath Thakur was
performed at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati, by the Sattriya Akademi with a
financial assistance of I.C.C.R.
3. Sattriya Akademi organized a workshop of Abhinaya in Sattriya dance, 1st
July to 2th July.
4. The students of the Akademi performed Sattriya dance at Shilpgram,
Guwahati, organized by I.C.C.R.
5. Sattriya and folk dance performance by the artists of the Akademi at
India Habitat Centre organized by the Impressario India, New Delhi.
6. The artists of the Akademi performed Sattriya and folk dances at the Epi
Centre, New Delhi, organized jointly by Asom Lekhika Santha and Bengali
Cultural Society.
7. Sattriya and folk dances performances at Azad Bhawan, New Delhi,
organized by I.C.C.R.
8. 12th annual dance festival, 'Nrityanjali 2011' was organized by the
Akademi.
9. 'Parijat Haran' Bhaona was presented by the Akademi at the 'Bhaona
Samaroh' organized by the Sattriya Kendra, Guwahati.

Training programme -
(i) Five years training course for Sattriya dance.
(ii) Two years training for performance.
(iii) Two years training course for Ojapali Deodhoni.
(iv) Hostel facilities available
The Akademi has been organizing an annual Sattriya dance festival named Nrityanjali since 2000 in Guwahati.
Sadhana Darpan, a new program with senior artist of the Akademi has been organized and it will continue in future.
